Hi, I’m Martin

I truly believe that deep, lasting change is possible for everyone, because I've experienced it first hand. My own journey from feeling stuck to finding my passion for growth is at the heart of my practice.

As your therapist, I offer a warm, patient, and open space for you to explore what's holding you back. My core approach is Transactional Analysis, a powerful framework that helps us understand the patterns we've developed, often from early life. My hope is that we’ll build a strong therapeutic relationship together – a safe space where you can explore these patterns and discover new, healthier ways of interacting with yourself and the world.

My commitment is to work with you, not just for you. We'll be collaborative in every step, discussing what we're doing and why, clearly defining your needs, and contracting for the changes you want to achieve.

Beyond our core work, I also incorporate goal-focused techniques (like CBT-informed, motivational, and solution-focused approaches) from my work as a mental health recovery coordinator in the charity sector, and my time working in the employment sector. help you move from feeling lost to truly finding your way.

I achieved my Diploma in Counselling at level 6 and I am an accredited member of the NCPS and can be found on their registry here.

I am also a member of the UKCP and UKATA/EATA professional bodies and follow their ethical guidelines.

The work

Forked dirt path in a dense green forest

Maybe you’ve noticed a pattern. You keep having the same type of relationship. You’re feeling unheard or misunderstood. You feel stuck and something isn’t working. You don’t know yourself or what you want.

You’ve come to the decision that it can’t stay this way but you just don’t know where to begin - you’re at a fork in the road. The time may be right to get some support.

Together we can explore your situation, your behaviours, the way you think, and how you feel. I’ll support you in uncovering the roots of these cycles, decisions made due to experiences in early life, and help you to be more present in the here-and-now.

Recognise it

Awareness is the first building block in lifelong change. Before we can make a new decision, we must first understand ourselves and learn compassion for the strategies we learnt to get by.

Change it

Once we see ourselves, hear ourselves, and hold compassionate space for ourselves, change can happen. Everyone has the capacity to change what isn’t working and I will support you to access this capacity within yourself.
